As you may be aware, I have responded to your query on the "other" horn-forum.

However, it has "bothered" me (but, I don't lose sleep over these things ).

I seem to have a similar situation (not the "A" designation, but something other).

I am now thinking (but not entirely convinced) that there were certain "special" horns that came out of the Martin facility; probably "custom / special"-order deals. This would be uncommon, but not unusual.

As with my unusual Martin horn, it is necessary to compare the components with a like-specific horn, "side-by-side", to discern similarities or differences.

I'll watch this topic, also, to see if anyone else has information to offer ....
