HN White 1904 Bb/A Small Bore Cornet

I also hit the jackpot on ebay, being the only bidder on the cornet for $125, picture at link below. The original mouthpiece is short, all my other cornet mouthpieces; being longer, make the horn flat. So I chucked the old one in my drill press and polished up the rim which was rough, and that is what I am using. The horn also has a stop adjustable slide to change down to A from Bb.

It is in totally playable condition, still some compression despite moderate pitting on the valves. Some plating is gone, and there are a few minor dents. I took it to an open jam with a local jazz trio last week, and it (and I) soared through a number of solos, In a Mellow Tone, Caravan, Wave, etc. The ubuquitous trumpet players were absent that night, leaving me to share the light with 2 trombonists and 3 alto sax players. What fun!
