Well, my idea of the Lead Trumpet sound was fixed into my brain over forty years ago when I first heard Java, Cotton Candy, Up Above my Head, Fly me to the Moon amoung many many others from a Big Big Man named Al Hirt.

Yes he was commercial. Many have said he was not a legit player. My trumpet professor in college despised the man. Me, Al was my hero. The sound I wanted to have and for the most part I have it. Took me a while but I finally have it (for the most part).
