| The Kraken send his Greetings Hello to All and All a Hellooooooooooo....
Since I am new to this community I would like to say Hello and will be looking for forward to some great discussions with you all but most of all I beleive I will learn alot from all of you as peek into the forums.
Just alittle about myself to break the ice:
I have been playing trumpet since about 1965, started in school and played a Bundy, still have the original case but the trumpet is long gone. When I was about 15 I aquired a Selmer for $50 from some trumpeter that had just bought himself a silver Bach. In any case I've been playing this Selmer for a long time, its paid for itself many times over and I use to play in bands and made a slight living at it. I did take a long break from playing from 1974 - 1980 due to military service, but once out I started up again. That lasted for some years, recorded in a local studio but soon after the band dispersed.
After that for one reason or another? life, family, school, job, I had another break playing. I would pick it up every now and then but would get frustrated at my lack of progress, all along remembering how I use to play long long ago. Well I finely picked it up again so here I am looking for some inspiration and discussion on various aspects of being the best I can be before I leave this world of ours.
Been practicing now for about 4 months, and actually quite surprised at my progress. I started using a BACH 1 1/2 C mouth peice and just switched to a Bach 10 1/2 C, in addition I decided to try one of those John Lynch mouth peices, should be here in about a week.
Well let me not bore you anymore so be seeing you.
Yours in Trumpet and Music
