Miles played some pretty heavy melodies...if we are talking about more linear stuff there are many.
I just pulled out an old transcription book from my Berklee days...Tom Harrell, Kenny Dorham, Pops, Bix,Freddie,Nat Adderly, CLARK TERRY,Joe Newman, Lee Morgan (Blue Train solo!), Freddie Webster...
Also- for me, I hear alot of deep melodic lines and ideas coming out of Kenny Wheeler and Booker Little...
to name a few!
Art too, I heard him a bunch when I lived in Austria and he was always searching and studying, never content with just playing what-ever...
