This is tough because I think people tend to have different conceptions on "what is Lyrical".....
I heard mention of the Blue Train solo-When They go to the double time feel-HE STILL mantains that lyrical beauty!!
Miles had a great concept of building a solo-through melodic ideas-NO matter what era he was playing from.
Chet baker was pretty lyrical...
But the guy who for me combines all of the above players--Blue Mitchell!!!! |
