Although I don't like the word "most" or "best" in comparing, I'll agree with Art Farmer being extremely lyrical. I am in the process of transcribing his solo of Lush Life from 'To Duke with Love'...WOW! I just love it.
As far as underrated, I'll throw in Nat Adderly- love his stuff too!
