| Re: Most Lyrical Jazzer One of the things this thread made me realize is that the Jazz musicians we love are always lyrical, in the sense that their improvisations are never just technical displays, but attempts, at a variety of tempos, at making up new melodies. If we keep that goal when we improvise, will always have something to say when we play. in the right hands, a barrage of sixtenth notes is a beautiful melody, and in the wrong, just a bad version of the Clarke book.
