If the organizer (who obviously knows this is a freebie) hooks you up with a pianist, I'd bet that the pianist knows the deal. Still, it may be worth checking with the organizer.
Maybe you could say something like this to the pianist: "I know this is a benefit, but can I offer you something for your time?" That way, he/she is aware that you are playing for free and that any cost will come out of your pocket. I bet the pianist takes the high road and doesn't charge you, but I guess you should be prepared to pay something just in case.
