Rautavaara is a serious composer, well worth checking out. "A Requiem in our time" has been around for ages -- a Google search will reveal the date -- and I recall some cool glissandi in the trombone parts as well as calls and echoes by the trumpets (I once programmed the echoes from offstage if memory serves me) (which it often doesn't).
