I had the same experience with a new Schilke mouthpiece and a fairly new Bach cornet, so it's not a worn or vintage receiver problem. It's a mouthpiece shank length problem. The Schilkes are just too long for some horns. Remember, study888 said his Bach mouthpieces work fine, so there's no need for anyone to suggest replacing the receiver - it's better to fix or change the mouthpiece.
