| Re: Flugelhorn suggestions You will get all sorts of suggestions--like the Kanstul 1525 that I recently bought. However, the reason I bought that one was because I attended a conference where TONS of horns were around to be played. From Jupiter to Yamaha to Getzen to Conn V1 to Stomvis to New York Trumpet Co. offerings, and from this, I picked the Kanstul. Other than recommending the 1525, I would recommend that you search for a similar event. You are in Louisiana, so maybe you could get on IH 10 this summer for the Texas Bandmasters Association convention here in San Antonio--there will be lots of horns here again. Or look closer to home and see what is there.
If you can't get out and sample lots, I would say that the Kanstul and Conn are both fine choices. The Jupiter also sounded nice at the price, IMHO.
have fun.
