| Re: question about Cornet&Flugel mouthpiece So Vulgano has done it too. I modified an obscure mouthpiece I got in one of my trumpet acquisitions from ebay or pawn shop. Thanks to the Conn Loyalist I got the measurements for a long shank Cornet mouthpiece. My band saw cut it to lenght. I opened the diameter of the throat with a drill bit. Sculpted the cup and rim edges with sandpaper until I liked the feel on my lips, and finished the project off with some jewelers rough and my conical buffing wheel. Lots of fun, and it works good too. I'd say more, but I've got to meet a buddy for coffee, and a little bragging................ |
