Don't even get me started about the laziness of the media!
I learned about the difference between clips and magazines from an unlikely source:
Minnesota governor, Jesse Ventura!
Before he was governor he had a radio show and expressed his indignance at people's ignorance at calling a magazine a clip and I haven't made that mistake since! I don't even refer to a rifle as a gun because of an article I read about a soldier who called his rifle a gun. He was made to stand nude in the hot sun and repeat for a solid hour, out loud, "This is my rifle, I called it a gun. That's why I'm standing here nude in the sun!"
I have not called it a gun since that time and I think I was about ten.
That's one of the reasons I'm persnickety about media types and thir writing/speaking styles. I communicate through a trumpet for a living and value language as something, well... important!
