This is the same challenge being met by orchestras. Not too many years ago orchestras were on the ropes, partly because of their elitist attitude. I think this was at least partly due to the universitites. I know a DMA brass student who was asked on his exam how many piano sonatas Beethoven wrote. So is the painting upside down? Should it matter? |
