Since we are talking about marching band, GPS (global positioning satellite technology) could be fed into every player's LCD monitor with a red dot on the screen indicating where you should be and a green dot on the screen indicating where you are.
Adjust your speed and direction so that the green dot is always on top of the red dot.
And let's just hope the software doesn't lead you into the side of a school building (wasn't that in the parade scene near the end of the movie "Animal House"?).

Most of the problems that I have seen in marching bands is the musicians ability to sort out the right and left feet. Haven't come up with a pimp for that yet..........
