Sort of- I met Geoff at Berklee, and then saw him along the way with both Arts (Blakey too) and we always seemed to keep in touch. I was intimidated playing with him at first but in some ways, I think that the encouragement that Art Farmer gave me helped me to realize that I needed a certain set of ears to support where I need to go in the music. Keezer is the ultimate dream player/friend/ collaborator, etc as our relationship is based on the music and alot of trust and communication on many levels. We talk a lot about basically everything there is to discuss in life, from politics to trumpet sounds to recipes to whatever. By the way Tom, Falling Up is one of my all-time favorite Cds and it definitely inspired my direction on At Sea, as did Geoffrey ...
