Re: Scherzer Piccs, Lacquer or Sterling

The idea behind the Sterling Silver bell and leadpipe is that the sound won't change color and "break up" when pushed to high volumes, so as to maintain a mf sound at fff. I can push my Scherzer past the pain threshold and it sounds fff, but still not "tinny" like I do on a p5-4.

The lacquer itself is pretty sucky on older models like mine, and any solder work will discolor a huge portion of the lacquer, so mine now falls into the ugly horn class, but it still plays pretty.
