| Re: Whatcha been lis'nin to lately? * Ingrid Jensen’s Nordic Connect – She is my favorite living jazz trumpet player. This is Ingrid’s most recent recording.
* Miles Davis’ Kind of Blue – I am playing along with the transcription book with Miles’ alternate take of "Flamenco Sketches"
* Thad Jones/Mel Lewis’ Consummation – I am playing along with Thad Jones on his solo, "Dedication" on my Martin Imperial flugelhorn. I purchased a copy of the lead trumpet book some time ago, but now I use it to work on just Thad’s solos. I will fill in the rest of the solo by transcribing the remainder of it.
* Kenny Dorham’s Quiet Kenny – I just got this CD the other night. “Kenny Dorham is at his lyrical best [liner notes].” I really like “My Ideal,” “Alone Together,” and “Old Folks” for their lyrical quality.
