| Bandman -- Health Update!!! Good news for a change!!!
I had an ultrasound done on my two carotid arteries this morning. Joni and I were ready to accept the fact that I would have to have surgery due to the amount of blockage they found 6-months ago. That would have been my 10th surgery in 42 months.
The blockage as read this morning is actually less than the readings they got 6-months ago by a considerable amount. Readings today were 10% lower in the left, and 20% lower in the right. My levels are still in the area that they will watch me close, but no surgery is needed now! The results of this test are within 10% of being exact, so in the worst case I'm staying the same and not getting worse. This is great because the less invasive procedures are getting better all the time. Hopefully they will be more perfected by the time this procedure becomes a medical necessity for me.
A month ago they chose to not do any surgery on my heart, as I seem to be developing collateral arteries. The overall result of the test was not great, but the developing arteries are a great sign! I trust Doc, and he says that over time I should see improvement without a surgical procedure right now.
I know this is not a big deal so some people, but this is the first time in 3-years that I have visited my doctor twice in a row with no visit to the hospital! I’m excited that I get to keep on going and look forward to my next visit with Doc, and more good news. I know that eventually I’ll have to go back in for more “tune-ups” but for now the news is great!
The power of prayer is very strong!!! I have no other explanation than to say that thanks to many prayers from many sources, the Good Lord is taking care of me! And for that, I am very thankful!
