| Re: PLEASE HELP, new trumpet Migs,
There so many horns out there...if possible don't buy without testing the horn. Sure, schilke make very nice horns. All depends on what exactly do you want and how much you are ready to spend on.
If I understand well, you will be looking rather for a light, easy speaking horn. So there is few brands to look:
Vintage:
Martin Comitee is a good bet
Yamaha
Schilke
Eclipse
NYTC
Taylor
Monette
Spada
These are some of the best makers on the market. Availability for some models and makes can be questionable so it is up to your local shop. Try everything you can and go for the best value trumpet...If you fell not experienced enough to choose on your own you can bring your trumpet teacher with or any other expert person (it is always useful to have another person hearing you playing the horns as you can be influenced by brand's names). Good luck!
