just take the laquered version and become a "singing" piccolo-player
..it's a great horn for solo AND orchestral repertoire at all. I prefere the basic mod. 8111 for Bach cantatas, baroque concerti and even for modern parts such as Strawinsky...Zimmermann...Davies...
This Scherzer picc. has a very "organic" sound , pretty good response and perfect intonation in b flat AND a tuning......
I never missed a sterling silver bell at any of my horns....
