Hi everyone!

I just thought I'd post here to quickly say hi to everyone on the forums and introduce myself. I am new to playing the trumpet (will be taking my first lesson on Saturday!). I first became fascinated with the trumpet when James Morrison came to our school music camp (when I lived in Australia) to perform for us back in 1989 (I played the piano, clarinet and a little saxaphone back then).His playing was simply awesome and floored me from the start. Before that day, I never knew the trumpet was so versatile and capable at producing such a wide range of beautiful music. Regrettably I never got to try the trumpet since my school at the time only had 1 brass teacher and his schedule was full. Now nearly 20 years later, I finally have an opportunity to learn the trumpet! My goal is to pick up as much as I can this summer while I have time off (I'll be starting medical school in the Fall). I will definitely be needing tips and advice from those who have been playing a long time. Thanks in advance!
