No extra attempt to hide stuff here--I like to think of the bigger, deeper mouthpieces as
passive/aggresive, letting us play wicked deadly loud without too much edge. In a big band setting, with saxophones using metal mouthpieces and a whole bunch of trombones, the characteristic lead sound is made much easier by a shallower cup, like your 14A4a.
