Hi BH... Congratulations on being so inovative and good luck with the site and potential sales!
The only wooden mutes I have ever seen in the past were made by a fellow in South Australia. He was a gardener in his spare time and made mutes from gourds which he grew like pumpkins! Obviously every one was different, so they all had there own individual sound.
