Hi,

REAL trumpets, eh? My condolences! Jon Faddis and Dizzy were REAL jazz PLAYERS . . . I guess they didn't play "REAL" trumpets.

If you aren't totally committed to that place, I'd recommend seeking another school. jAfter you find the other school, tell the Dean at the school paying this "instructor" why you chose to take your dollars elsewhere. A decent instructor can help you become a great player WITHOUT needing a certain maker to make the brass tubing you toot through.

You are at a crossroads in your intellectual development, and must decide whether you have a brain of your own or whether you want to be molded into a clone of this clown, whoever he/she is.
