| Hello from Danville, KY Hi,
My name is Brandon Floyd. I graduated from Centre College in 2006. While I was a student I had the distinct honor to study with Vince DiMartino. You may have seen me at the ITG conference in Bangkok. I played with the Centre College Trumpet Ensemble in a master class with Vince DiMartino. I have been playing for 14 years. I attended high school at the South Carolina Governor's School for the Arts and Humanities. I was in the inagural class. While in high school I studied to Dr. Gary Malvern from Furman University. I mostly play classical music, but I am interested in playing lead. I played in the Centre Jazz band. Improvisation, however, is not one of my strengths.
I really enjoy quintet and quartet playing. I currently play in the Advocate Brass Band in Danville, KY. The band is playing June 9 and 10 at the Great American Brass Band Festival in Danville, KY. If you have never been to the festival it is totally worth the trip. This year Phil Smith is attending and will give a master class at 9:00am on Saturday the 9 of June.
Currently I am preparing to move to Charleston, SC. If anyone knows of any work opportunities or people I should talk to please let me know. I am glad to finally be on a sight for fellow trumpet players and look forward to conversing with you all.
Thank You,
Brandon Floyd
