| Re: adult jazz clinic There you have it folks- Burl Ives! Need we sell any more? HA. My Mom actually played Burl Ives records a lot when we were kids, a very comforting character. Speaking of characters- US airways mag had a wonderful interview with the late Kurt Vonnegut in it (and we all know what a crap shoot it is to find good reading on the plane!)
Q:" A lack of seriousness", you wrote, "has led to all sorts of wonderful insights." KV: "Yes. The world is too serious. To get mad at a work of art-because maybe someone somewhere is blowing his stack over what I've done-is like getting mad at a hot fudge sundae!"
Just a reminder, I guess, for us to all have fun, and eat good ice cream too...
Not sure how this relates to any particular thred, just dug the interview.
He also says that he is (was) suing the cigarette companies because their product hadn't killed him yet.
