For me the 22B Victor plays very similar to the 47/48 NYS just a little bit more like a modern sound. Both are alot more free blowing than their bore might suggest. The NYS feels abit more 'dainty' but that could just in my head as the Victor feels alot more solid with the later model casings. I also like the look of the Victor over the traditional NYS. My Victor is in pieces at the moment mid restoration so it didn't come over to the UK with me.
The NYS still looks good because it is one of those attic finds. I was told it had been in storage for about 45 years. After looking at it I could not disagree. I just got lucky on ebay that day. Bad description and no photos. Emailed the seller for some pics and got a good suprise. I was the only one to bid. :)
If I didn't have the 48 model NYS I would have certainly kept the 47 model.
