My Victor is in pieces at the moment mid restoration so it didn't come over to the UK with me.
The NYS still looks good because it is one of those attic finds. I was told it had been in storage for about 45 years. After looking at it I could not disagree. I just got lucky on ebay that day. Bad description and no photos. Emailed the seller for some pics and got a good suprise. I was the only one to bid. :)
If I didn't have the 48 model NYS I would have certainly kept the 47 model.
Since you are restoring a Victor 22B, Someone quoted at Conn Loyalist says that re-lacquering with modern lacquer ruins the sound of vintage Conns:
The Conn Loyalist

I will be having a 1952 22B re-lacquered because 50 percent of the original lacquer is missing.

Have you had a vintage trumpet re-lacquered and did you think it ruined the sound of the trumpet?
