| Re: Cornet MPC and Range? The problem in the high range can be leaky valves, the backbore or gap of the mouthpiece.
The Cornet is primarily conical in bore compared to a trumpet being cylindrical. This means that they play much differently - especially slurs and articulation. It could be that with that mouthpiece, that you do something weird with your tongue position when playing high - or that that hardware simply does not get along with one another.
