Re: Telemann Trumpet Concerto in D major

The quality of any performance has nothing to do with age, it is only that which comes out of the bell.

It is very important that we play everything that we can get out hands on. It is equally important to be proud of what we have accomplished.
True valid pride should be based on quality preparation. When young players have a realistic picture of their capabilities, they can judge what should be presented in an open forum. I am really interested in what is posted here, but not interested in feeding any ego where it is not warranted.

The WORST thing that can happen is to qualify quality based on age. I am sure that Btnbrass has other pieces that are well prepared by any standard. They would have been a more suitable choice for publication!

TM is not my site, but I would hate to see an invasion of posts: Richter Concerto check this out, Tomasi check this out................. all unprepaired and comprimised musically, rhythmically and technically. A certain amount of respect for the composer can be expected in my humble opinion.

I would like to see players like Btnbrass get a real perspective of what is musically sound and sense the joy that we all have after a job well done!
