Just for your information, Brass Bags cases are actually very very soft, with minimal padding on the sides (hence their ultra-compactness). But don't think I'm advising against it: cut some plexi to fit in the sides/top/bottom of the case and you have the world's smallest hard quad case.
If that's not enough protection for you, look at Bona. Both are awesome cases, I have a Brass Bags triple and a Bona quad.
