Burt played in a big band the backed Chet Baker in the seventies.

Your Duke Person remarks caugh my attention.
Back in the day,that was the trumpet section that was in competition with Thad & Mel's band.
Joe Shepley was one of those take no prisoners trumpet players,the type of cat I dug.
