The classic German flugelhorn mouthpieces have a trumpet shank. Bruno Tilz is a great mouthpiece maker in Germany and worth checking out. In traditional German bands the flugelhorn played all the fast stuff, like cornets in the British tradition.
It appears yours is a "professional" model--I don't see any place for a lyre, and the first valve slide, at 90 degrees from the leadpipe, can be pulled out by the right hand thumb for tuning 13 and 123 combinations. Cool find!
