When I went from a free blowing, low resistance horn to the Bach, I had a terrible time with the upper register. I had been physically adding the resistance needed to play in the upper register and when I went to the Bach the horn's resistance added to what I was doing on the low resistance horn equaled way too much resistance. When I learned to relax and let the horn provide the resistance everything was fine. Rather than try to find equipment that matches your your physical set-up it is much better to let your physical set-up adapt to the instrument. You are pliable, the horn is not.
