| Re: Uses for a Chinese trumpet? After trying penetrating oil and all that stuff (including imersing the instrument in water [in the bathtub {after removing the felts}]) you can try the following:
Using a dowel (big, but small enough to fit in the valve casing--chopsticks are too narrow) and a hammer, you can try to gently tap the valve out through the bottom. For lapping, Lava soap seems a favorite for us DYI trumpet mutilators.
