Here in Montreal the jazz community is in mourning. Most of us at one point or another played with Oscar or had the chance to meet the man.Once upon a time Montreal was part of that famous touring circuit in the 40-50-60's. Everybody played here and that's why in major part people like Oscar, Maynard, Guido Basso and others were discovered.I'm proud to be a Montrealer but losing greats like Oscar and Maynard saddens us since we know we will never live those types of musical moments again.We can only cherish the memories and remember them through their music!
