| Re: TM User Reputation System I didn't even know what this was about until last week. I clicked on the second green square and it said "ROWUK is just nice". I still am not sure if that is a complement.............
I definitely do not qualify as an "idol" nor do I have an active interest in being branded. Another forum (for audiophile headphoning) that I visit gives points. There are some posters with 4000 posts and 2000 points (not me, I am at 130/4 there but I do not love headphones in the same way as I love trumpet). I think that system is unfair as it implies that only the heavy points are believable when you get into an argument!
I guess anything is worth a try, I promise not to chase brownie points though. If anyone has a problem with me and my posts (quantity, quality, length, themes), a PM is the fastest way to clear things up. If I goof up, I will take the hit openly.
When I first started at TM I got blasted for posting too much and not blindly agreeing with established pros (that were not even posting at TM). There are always several valid sides to every issue and I just post my personal experience. As with trumpetjens and his Yamaha ad post proved, this can be fun for all sides! An open forum does not have to be 50% flames.
Brem,
Sheik Yerbooti would probably fit your playing style better!
Ed and VB, 6 or 7 red squares would definitely get some attention. George Carlin did a stand up comedy act many years ago where he suggested this system for automobile drivers. If somebody misbehaves in traffic, you shoot their car with a suction cup arrow, after a certain number of arrows, their license gets taken away.
