my own first trumpet is a Couesnon, 105 rue Lafayette Paris in C/Bb.
I assume that the Lafayette brand was created specially for the US market because, in France, we do not know this brand, only Couesnon (with an address) or the Couesnon Monopole name (the top of the line).
Regarding the letters, I made some studies about this, regarding the Monopole Flugelhorn and posted the results on TH (topic "Couesnon Flugelhorns").
As far as I know, there is no relation between letters on the horn and any characteristics of the horn. It is only the first letter of the name of the guy who was responsible of the valves or the leadpipe, and so on...
