and thanks a lot for the warm welcome! Kansas definitely has some excellent steak, but I'm sure that Nebraska and Iowa steak are just as delicious.
As for tornadoes, I haven't seen any myself yet, but I got some nice pictures of lightning. One of them is attached below.
And for the comparison between German and US military bands: I've been to one concert of "The United States Air Force Band" and I was quite impressed. The performance was amazing, with them even playing some background tunes while the announcer said something about the next song. The concerts with the German Air Force Band were more like regular wind ensemble concerts, with a nice mix of music from Classical to Modern to Traditional. But we also had the mandatory official business with marches and anthems. Our marching was straight-line marching only, though, far less spectacular than what even high-school marching bands can do.
