Best to look at this in context with the rest of her program. What else will she be singing?

Bruce Adolphe wrote a wonderful piece called MADRIGALI for Lucy Shelton and I some years ago. It's scored for soprano, 2 trumpets, bassoon, and positif organ (essentially a b.c. group). Lucy isn't/wasn't a coloratura by any means. Perhaps your wife knows her voice?
