I played a Spada/Bach C for a few years in the Rotterdam Philharmonic and have a different one (a Spada/Bach/Blackburn combination that used to belong to Balazs Nemes, the wonderful Hungarian playing now in the Franfurt Radio Orchestra) in my collection today. It's a super horn and I'd guess that Rene's modifications to a Bel Canto might be effective as well -- I've just never played (or seen) one.
