Re: Hardenberg/Turnage Video

Ed,

What a great list (I secretly love the Haydn)!

Hakan and Gruber are working on another concerto together so we can probably expect the premier of another addition later this year.

Obviously subjective, but here are few that I would like to add:

James MacMillan: Epiclesis

Benedict Mason: Trumpet Concerto

Wolfgang Rihm: Marsyas

I'll wait on a recording or until I hear a performance to definitively decide, but I'm pretty confident that I'd add Olga Neuwirth's "... miramondo multiplo..." to the list. It was premiered at the 2006 Salzburg Festival by Hakan Hardenberger with the Vienna Philharmonic conducted by Pierre Boulez (a better combination of composer/performer/conductor/orchestra would be hard to find) and Marco Blaauw is scheduled to premiere the chamber version later this year with musikFabrik.

Ed, I'm really looking forward to the website. Let us know when it's up and running!

-Matthew
