Hi eveyone---I just found this site by accident, you know, chasing one thread after the other and sooner or later you're here!
I'm an expat American who's been playing Principal in the Sydney Symphony Orchestra since 1978---time flies when you're having fun!

The Sydney Opera House is a great "office" to have, as I tell my non-musician friends. Actually the concert hall is one of the largest around and a lot of the sound tends to go straight up into the sails, so it can be a bit of work at times...
We're basically committed BACH players here, as well as playing Schagerl rotary trumpets in most of the Germanic repertoire. The orchestra is quite a busy one, giving around 140 concerts per year and touring occasionally.
