Pablo Casals began his day pretty much the same way. He was asked about his practice methods by a Marlboro participant at lunch, and he answered "Bach on the piano." After playing the piano, he worked on tuning on his cello.
He was meticulous about pitch. Casals said that he was one of the first in-tune Cellists! He worked on connecting notes in tune, and by his description, he worked one note at a time.
Casals practiced every day until he died.
