That old "parts horn" has had more than a little dent removal, a replacement 2nd valve crook, new corks and felts throughout and all new springs. It currently has the valves from one of my other Libertys which are a sloppy fit. My intent is to hone out the cylinders of both of these Libertys and plate up with copper the valves that are serial number matches to the horns. I will follow this plating with an ultra fine lapping job. My 1927 Silvertone came from the factory with copper plated valves and also most of my early Holtons. I just discovered that my very early American Standard cornet also has copper plated valves. I find them to be extremely fast and light in all cases that I have tried.
