When you gradually reduce the first slope into the cup you get more literal support, more contact with the lips, and a brighter sound. The rims may be the same but the two mouthpieces will feel different because of the increased contact with your lips, different shape of the cups, not because of a lack of quality control. By the way, if you went to a deeper cup the change in feel would be in the opposite direction fro what I described earlier. What mouthpieces are you using right now? If they're close enough to each other there shouldn't be an issue with switching, but if they're very different in cup volume that may throw you off. Also, are you studying with anyone right now? A private teacher can help you through any potential embouchure problems that you may be experiencing. Have a good day.

Who said I have embouchure problems? I can easily switch between these two but was commenting on my disappointment in them being different. I believe they are not the same diameter from visual inspection and feel. I fail to see why it should look and feel so different between the different cups only from alpha angle. Either way, what is the point of being consistent if all the mouthpieces of a number feel like different sizes? It's not like I need more than one of the exact same mouthpiece. They pretty much last forever.

And no, they are not the 3 series
