commakozzi has a spectacular aura about
Bill Evans

I'm transcribing Miles' solos on "Kind of Blue" and really immersing myself into it; working on those songs during my improv sessions, etc. I'm listening to the recordings all day (the whole album, not just what I'm transcribing at the time), and comparing the solo styles of each of the players and taking ideas from all of them. So, I've come to this conclusion: although I love Miles Davis, I'm going to have to say that Bill Evans is my favorite player on this album. His style is just in another world man! Of course, "Flamenco Sketches" is what most people talk about (I think), but listen to his solo on "All Blues"... I think on his second chorus? Could be wrong, but my god it's amazing. It's nothing technically astonishing, it's just his musical interpretation of the changes. Wow!!! No wonder Miles loved him.
