"Please realize that Domenick started numbering trumpets in 1947 at #1000 and some 55 years later Calicchio has just broken #7000, with 900 numbers that were never used (one guy in the shop who was numbering casings went 3097, 3098, 3099, 4000, 4001, 4002 – OOPS!!! Domenick saw no harm leaving it that way. "It’s only a number" he said).
Do the math: That’s 5100 trumpets in 55 years – less than a 100 average per year!"
